About FIRESTOP Sprinkler Systems

FIRESTOP Sprinkler Systems Ltd is a UK company founded to promote the use of fire sprinkler systems in both domestic and commercial premises.

Properly installed sprinkler systems are proven to extinguish fire at its source and before there is any loss of life or significant damage to property.

It’s a technology that has been working reliably in industrial and commercial locations for over 100 years and the time has now come to start installing smaller scale sprinklers in domestic homes, with all the safety benefits they bring to people and properties.

FIRESTOP Sprinkler Systems Ltd can supply custom designed water, or where appropriate, gas or chemical fire suppression systems, of the highest quality to protect you and your property.

FIRESTOP Sprinkler Systems are designed and commissioned in association with one of the UK’s top fire protection companies, UK Firewatch Ltd, which began trading in 1979 and has gone from strength to strength since then.

Projects recently completed by UK Firewatch Ltd are:

  • A chemical plant in Hull involving 1,500 metres of underground cement lined iron pipe work with fire hydrants, together with a foam enhanced sprinkler system to provide a containment curtain for an ammonia plant.
  • The installation of 4,500 sprinkler heads and alarms for a distribution warehouse during normal working hours and with no disruption to the business.
  • Extensive sprinkler protection for two paper making mills and their associated storage areas, together with ig-55 gas suppression systems to protect electrical switch gear.
  • Sprinkler systems for new retail units in the Metro Centre, Gateshead.
  •  The installation of 3,000 sprinkler heads in all areas of the Newcastle Hilton Hotel.
  • Installation of fire sprinklers in a retirement home in Houghton le Spring as an alternative solution to constructing a second means of escape.
  • Installation of sprinklers in 56 top of the range flats in Newcastle.

All FIRESTOP commissioned work is undertaken to ISO 9001:2000 standards and all installers are trained to the highest industry standards, which are externally audited.

Work is carried out using level three of the new LPS 1048 scheme and new installations will meet the forthcoming European standard – EN12845 – currently being phased in over the next two years.

FIRESTOP Sprinkler Systems Managing Director David Watson says: "It's inconceivable nowadays that valuable buildings and their contents are not safeguarded with fire protection systems.

When a fire occurs, it can spread in minutes and even if you successfully evacuate the people in the building, you could still be facing catastrophic damage or a total loss.

Even with insurance, your business would cease to function, records could be lost forever and systems destroyed.

Many businesses don't have a disaster recovery plan and would simply go bankrupt.

If fire occurs in your home, you could lose everything you possess, even if you and your family escape.

Installing a FIRESTOP Sprinkler System could simply be the best decision you ever made!"
